• Improved the security by validating the OIDC server certificates against installed CA certificates.

• Enrollment over Secure Transport (EST)

• • Added support for up to 2 profiles/servers.

  • Improved the service selection when configuring an EST profile.

  • Corrected an issue that prevented deleting an EST profile.

• Added new action for sending DTMF over SIP.

  Added support for configuring any contact to retrieve video from an external source.
  Added the possibility to use drag and drop of actions from the actions table to an available button in the web configuration page. This makes it easier to configure actions on the device.

• Added support for thermal sensor thermometric data to AXIS Sensor Metrics Dashboard.

• Introducing device data hub. It is a data-centric publish-subscribe data distribution system that acts as the new central data hub for Axis devices. This new feature is currently in beta state. More information can be found in ACAP SDK 12.10.

• Added new SNMP OIDs to expose detailed device information via SNMP, including:

• • Device manufacturer, model, serial number and software version

  • Device uptime and System load

  • Device CPU, memory and flash utilization

• The new Export-import device configuration feature is enabled by default.

• Added more detailed health monitoring data for newer 128 and 256 GB Axis SD cards.

• Simplified pairing process by removing manual input of “Certificate Common Name”.

• Added the possibility to disable portcast as well as the heater detector, when connected to AXIS TU8003 and AXIS TU8005.

• • Added information if an ACAP application is not signed.

  • Added support to select a pass phrase complexity profile on the initial account setup page.

  • Added the possibility to display LLDP/CDP neighbor under Network discovery protocols.

• Cybersecurity updates

• Updated cURL to version 8.19.0 to increase overall cybersecurity level.

• Added support for RFC 7030 Enrollment over Secure Transport (EST) for IT-policy managed, automated lifecycle of certificates and their renewal. EST can be used to manage certificates for TLS-bearing services such as IEEE 802.1X, HTTPS, MQTT and others. Read more in the AXIS OS Knowledge base.

• Updated OpenSSL to version 3.5.5 to increase overall cybersecurity level, addressing one high-severity, two medium-severity, and seven low-severity issues.
  Note: Updating OpenSSL has prohibited the use of RSA 1024-bit keys. Therefore, TLS 1.0/1.1 SIP communication is no longer supported in the factory default state.
  This is a breaking change for SIP. Support for TLS 1.0/1.1 HTTPS connections was removed in AXIS OS 12.0. However, it does not affect upgrades in order to maintain backwards compatibility.

• Updated OpenSSL to version 3.5.6 to increase overall cybersecurity level.

• Device Configuration API: Added the possibility to set system-wide pass phrase complexity before registering the first account.

• Addressed CVE-2026-0804 and CVE-2026-1185. These CVEs will be externally disclosed on 12 May 2026, more detailed information will follow at that time. For more information, please visit the Axis vulnerability management portal.

Then a new feature called "Rapid response zone" will be available under the detection section.

Features for all products

• During an AXIS OS upgrade, if an installed ACAP application is incompatible with the new version, the device will roll back to the previous AXIS OS version. For example, upgrading from AXIS OS 11.11 to 12.5 will trigger a rollback if an ACAP application requires root user access. Previously, such applications would be removed, resulting in lost settings after the upgrade.

• Automatic flushing of the output buffer for the ACAP applications using FCGIs.

• Both the device system-on-chip (SOC) and architecture are displayed in "Install an app", in the web interface.

• Firewall now has a new look and feel in the web interface. Enabling easy configuration of filters for MAC addresses, IP and port range, packet types and limiting the number of new connections.

• The Power settings API has been updated with a new "powerState" value in the PowerStatus object, indicating whether the power supplied by the power sourcing equipment supports full or limited device functionality.

• A new "Type" option has been added to Remote Syslog configuration (System -> Logs -> Remote system log), allowing users to choose between sending all logs ("All") or only audit logs ("Audit").

• A new audit log has been added. It will track cybersecurity relevant device events. Right now, only account changes are tracked, but we'll add more in future releases. The audit log is persistent and survives power cycles and restarts.

• Implemented the IPv4 compliance i.e. AXIS OS devices no longer have default IP addresses. The Axis OS devices will use IP addresses either from a DHCP server or from a statically configured address. The devices will only revert to link-local addresses if an IP address conflict is detected or if a DHCP server is not available on the network. Limitations

• ACAP Computer Vision SDK delay
  In AXIS OS 11.9, ACAP Computer Vision SDK applications built with ACAP Computer Vision SDK 1.12 or earlier that have a direct or indirect dependency on the library libvdostream.so, as instructed in various acap-computer-vision-sdk-examples, will encounter a runtime error. This occurs despite their successful execution on AXIS OS 11.8 and earlier versions. An update of such applications will be necessary to be compatible with 11.9 and future versions.
  
  An updated ACAP Computer Vision SDK is currently under development, more information will come.

• Added support for IEEE 802.1AE MAC Security (MACsec) with Static CAK/Pre-Shared Key (PSK) and Dynamic CAK/EAP-TLS. Dynamic CAK/EAP-TLS is enabled by default.
  MACsec can be configured from the security tab in the web-interface and allows for complete layer-2 network encryption between the Axis device and network switch. Read more in the AXIS OS Knowledge base.

• Disabled the root-privileged access through the SSH-interface in the factory defaulted state. To allow root-privileged access through SSH. it must be enabled in Settings > Accounts > SSH accounts. Upgrade without factory default will not affect the setting. For more information see AXIS OS root ACAP signing in Developer community and Changes in AXIS OS 11 in AXIS OS Lifecycle guide.

• Disabled the root-privilege installation of ACAPs in the factory defaulted state.
