AXIS Installer

New features in this release:

• You can now use the app to discover devices on a local network, for example by using AXIS T8415 Wireless Installation Tool. For more information, see Discover devices.

• We have added support for configuring basic device settings in the app

• We have also added the option to configure advanced settings by opening the device web interface within the app

Changes from the previous release:

• We have temporarily removed the possibility to register and onboard devices to My Systems through the app

With AXIS Installer, you can easily get access to devices during installation, either with AXIS T8415 Wireless Installation Tool, or on any local network.

Use the app to configure device settings, and to access the live view to make sure the device is placed and focused correctly. You can also get quick access to installation guides and user manuals, for example by scanning the QR Code® on your OAK (owner authentication key).

AXIS Installer is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. You can download and install the app from Google Play or App Store.

You can use AXIS Installer with AXIS T8415 Wireless Installation Tool to discover devices, either one at a time, or several at the same time.

1. Set up AXIS T8415 according to the installation guide.

   The installation guide is available on axis.com/products/axis-t8415-wireless-installation-tool/support.

2. Note

   Make sure to turn on the onboard DHCP server in AXIS T8415.

3. To discover one device: Connect the device directly to the CAM port (PoE) on AXIS T8415 using an Ethernet cable.

4. Verify that the PoE indicator is lit.

5. To discover multiple devices: Connect the devices to a network switch, and connect the switch to the NET port on AXIS T8415 using an Ethernet cable.

6. Connect your smartphone or tablet to AXIS T8415 WiFi.

7. Open AXIS Installer.

8. Go to Discover where the device, or devices, appear in a list.

1. Connect the device, or devices, to the local network.

2. Connect your smartphone or tablet to the same network using a Wi-Fi access point or dongle.

3. Open AXIS Installer.

4. Go to Discover where the device, or devices, appear in a list.

You can use AXIS Installer to access and configure the device’s settings and live view.

1. Go to Discover in AXIS Installer.

2. Tap on a device in the list to either log in or set a password. You can also select multiple devices in the list.

3. Set or enter the credentials for the device.

2. Tap one of the devices in the list.

3. Tap the setting you wish to configure.

4. • Capture mode and power line frequency: Select a capture mode and the power line frequency that applies for your region.

   • Network: Add TCP/IP and friendly name settings.

   • Date and time: Select time zone and time synchronization options.

2. Tap one of the devices in the list.

3. Tap the live view.

4. Adjust the live view. The following settings are available, depending on what your device supports:

5. • Autofcous

   • Rotate

   • Snapshot

   • Grid

3. Tap Advanced settings.

   This opens the device’s web interface within the app, and gives you access to add or edit settings available in the web interface.

4. Note

   For more information about the options and settings in the web interface, see the user manual for your device. You can find all user manuals directly in the app, see Access documentation.

You can easily find installation guides and user manuals for Axis devices in AXIS Installer for example by scanning the QR Code on the device’s OAK (Owner Authentication Key), or by searching for a specific device. You can also find documentation for other types of Axis products, like applications and software.

4. Tap and scan the QR Code on the OAK. You can find the OAK in the box of the device you’ve purchased.

3. Go to Discover.

4. Tap one of the devices in the list.

5. Go to Device manuals, and tap Manuals.

1. Search for a specific Axis device or product:

2. Open AXIS Installer.

3. Go to Manuals.

4. Type the name of the Axis device or product in the search field. You can also select a category to find the device or product you’re looking for.
